I am so excited about being the 8th-grade counselor at STMS for the 23/24 School Year. Here at STMS, our counseling program aligns with that of the ASCA National Model. Our counseling programs are an integral part of STMS's academic mission and are created to have a significant positive impact on student achievement, attendance, and behavior. We accomplish this by data-driven decisions, delivering to all students systematically, including a developmentally appropriate program for career and postsecondary readiness and success, and closing achievement and opportunity gaps.

Hello and welcome to my profile. I am a native of Boston, Massachusetts, but have lived here in the valley for over twenty-five years. I was instantly drawn to the west, and to the beauty of the desert aesthetic. This is my first year at STMS. I attended the University of Massachusetts, graduating with a B.A in English and Psychology in 1995. It was my initial internship that instilled my passion for counseling, a dynamic that only grew over time. Upon entering graduate school in 2011, I was asked which population I hoped to work with upon completing my coursework, to which I answered, "children and adolescents." In 2014, I completed my graduate degree, obtaining a Master's of Science in Professional Counseling. My early clinical experience found me working alongside a diverse population. I trained at the Phoenix Rescue Mission's inpatient facility, Changing Lives Center, an experience which changed my life. Over the years, I have trained at various sites, primarily focusing on trauma, with the key intent of helping those I served move past their challenges. All of my work has led me here, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help guide and shape young minds. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling to far off places, engaging all forms of artistic expression, especially music and photography. I am a strong advocate for health and wellness. I hope to make a difference here at STMS, fulfilling the hopes I expressed on my first day of graduate school.
